The History of St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day is a worldwide celebration. It is a Christian feast day that many celebrate to honor the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick (387 AD - 461 AD). St. Patrick was born in Wales around 385 AD, and was given the name Maewyn. Until the age of 16 he considered himself a pagan. At that age, a group of Irish marauders raided his village and he was then sold into slavery. He became closer to God during his captivity, and managed to escape from slavery after 6 years. Maewyn then studied in a monastery under St. Germain, bishop of Auxerre at Gaul. This is when he found that his calling was to convert pagans to Christianity. He was then appointed as second bishop of Ireland and adopted the name St. Palladius. His main goal was to turn the native pagans of Ireland to Christianity. Despite the fact that he was arrested many times for being successful converting the pagans, he always managed to escape prison. Patrick's task in Ireland lasted 30 years. He then retired and died on March 17, 461 AD, the day that is now known as St. Patrick's Day.

WHERE'S THE MARKET?

A Miami Herald analysis of the real estate market suggests rethinking your real estate strategies. In an adjusting market pricing your home correctly is your ticket to selling it. For every one (1) home that sells fourteen (14) do not. As a result buyers have many choices.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and get used to the slower pace. To understand this market, just look around your neighborhood at all the "For Sale" signs. Most areas if Marathon and many other areas in the Keys are bloated with sellers.

The message for customers and realtors is both negative and positive. Realtors may not have an abundance of sales. However for anyone considering to purchase a home or investment property is appears that now is as good time as time as any to go for it.

If you buy this year don't plan of flipping it for a few years. By then everything should be back to a more normal level of growth and average sales per month.

Let's De-Stress

Everyday we get up and begin our day whether we go to work or set out to accomplish other tasks; there are many days we all have little aggravations along the way. Maybe our boss yells at us, a car cuts us off spilling our cappuccino all over our new suit; you get the picture.

Some people think a yearly vacation is all you need to reduce the stressful lives we lead, when in fact your home should be our safe haven. Applying some of the principles of the ancient Chinese Feng Shui can have you waking up refreshed and rejuvenated.

Luxury bedding is a must, we spend one third of our lives in the bedroom, sleeping, reading, and having intimate moments. The sound of a fountain is very soothing and adds moisture to your room. Have closets organized for a more restful feeling.

If your energy levels are at their peak you have a greater chance of successfully creating new opportunities and dealing with the day to day experiences and pressures. This clarity when added to peak performance can assist you in achieving whatever you desire.

To reach this level of clarity and performance you must have an environment away from the demands and chaos of the everyday world, where you can go to rejuvenate each day.
